I have not been in full-time employment since 2008 and it’s great! I now make my living from the internet, and it has given me a life I could only dream about a few years earlier. I go to the gym most days, have time for my friends and family, and work from home. I don’t need to battle through the rush hour traffic to get to a place I don’t really want to go. I have no caps on my earnings. Best of all I am building my business up for the future. With employment, at any time you could be fired or laid off. The company you work for could go bust overnight, and there is nothing you can do about that. All those years of investment can be for nothing except the paycheck that it gave you at the time.

Worst still, most jobs only really pay you enough to live. There is very little excess money. You cannot usually just walk from a job if you are unhappy. They have an unfair hold over you, which many tend to exploit. If you do decide to quit, then you have to start looking for another job quick. If you are really unlucky, you may be forced to accept a REALLY bad job to make ends meet. They do exist!

Take a look at these bad jobs, they are some of the worlds’ worst jobs.  If this doesn’t motivate you to start up your own business, then probably nothing will. If you do already have your own business, then appreciate what you have got, and work hard to improve it. You may not have a job like this now, but who knows what the future might bring!?

You may have to work in uncomfortably cramped conditions, with annoying and selfish co-workers, feeling frustrated and trapped. Unfortunately you end up spending more time with these people than you do your own family and friends. That’s not right is it? But this is the least of your worries…

You may end up working in more unsanitary conditions like this one.

Or this one!

Of course there are health and safety rules, but some jobs just have to be done. You are provided with a full works uniform – what more could you possibly want?!

Some jobs might require you to get a little closer to people than you really want.

Some jobs are just plain dangerous. You might need nerves of steel and a VERY steady hand!

Dangerous Job

Some jobs can feel a bit like being led to the gallows. Not for the nervous, but at least he has wooden ladders!

Wet Job

Some jobs are just too unpredictable, and can change when the weather changes. Still you must plod on if you want to keep your job and get paid.

Bad Fishing Job

A spot of fishing is nice in theory. However when it’s not on your own terms…

Control Yourself

Many jobs demand you have unrealistically high levels of self-control. They are often stifling and unrewarding. We are not designed to be so far steered away from our natural urges. This can lead to anxiety and stress in the long term. We are humans after all, not robots.

The point is that you can take matters into your own hands. Don’t rely on other people to create a nice and comfortable job for you. You might get lucky, but then again you might not. If you do get lucky, you can’t guarantee this will last. Take matters into your own hands and create your own tailor made job to suit YOU. Don’t complain, get out there and make it happen before it’s too late!
